Terris Grimes

Terris McMahan Grimes is the
winner of the Chester Himes award for Black mystery writers. Her first novel, Somebody Else's Child garnered an Agatha nomination for best first mystery and won Anthony awards for best first mystery and best paperback original. Both Somebody Else's Child and her second novel, Blood Will Tell, made the Blackboard bestseller list. Grimes recently completed, Other Duties as Required, the third novel in the Theresa Galloway series. Grimes is also the author of a play, Murder at the Club Alabam, and short stories. A native of Tucker, Arkansas, Grimes grew up in Oakland, California and is a graduate of McClymonds High School. She attended Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and graduated with a degree in English from California State University, Chico. She lives in Sacramento, California where her series is set. |
